Annual Congress 2009
By bringing LGBT diversity to the global forefront, the IGLCC continues to make history in the business world in 2009. The Second Annual Congress in Copenhagen once again proved to be a great forum for meeting and discussing the most important issues at stake for our global community.
The Congress opened with the inspiring keynote speech of Claudia Woody, from IBM, and by the presentation of the IGLCC 2009 International awards.
During the 3 days event, current topics were addressed in a series of 11 workshops, which were developed with the close collaboration of our Affiliate Member from the Netherlands, the Company Pride Platform Foundation. The workshops discussed women and transgendered issues in business and LGBT resource groups in major corporations, among others.
Another highlight was the keynote speech from the Secretary General of the IGLCC, Pascal Lépine, during a plenary session of the 2009 World Outgames LGBT Human Rights Conference. This was a great and important opportunity to present how our business community has been collaborating for the advancement of equality through our connections and relationships with major international corporations and governments.
We thank all our corporate members, our partners and our Affiliate Members for their support during the Congress.
We extend our gratitude as well to the numerous and very professional speakers and moderators who shared their expertise and business experiences and to the World Outgames volunteers.
